Payson rests at the base of the Majestic Mogollon Rim. The 5,000 foot elevation gives Payson its pleasant climate and four mild seasons with limitless outdoor recreational activities.
Payson offers a broad range of community facilities. These include a library, five schools, several private schools, a community college, parks, museums, The Payson Regional Medical Center with helicopter medical transport, three grocery stores, shopping for all needs, lodging, Payson police & fire department, and an airport with a 5,500 foot lighted runway.
There are two golf communities and a public golf course for residents. For additional shopping and sport or cultural events, the scenic Hwy 87 from Payson to Shea Boulevard is a mere 65 mile drive to the metropolitan Phoenix area. Payson boasts the World's Longest Continuous Rodeo and some fabulous antique shopping, as well as several museums including The Zane Grey Museum.
